Obituary of Alexander Christie

CHRISTIE, Alexander Gordon Passed away at his home in Brampton on Friday, March 13, 2015. He died the same way in which he lived his life. With a laugh and a joke. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he immigrated to Canada in 1967. Alex was an incredibly intelligent man with a strong work ethic. He spent the majority of his working years as a mechanical engineer for Thomas J. Liptons& Associated Brands. Alex gave countless hours to many charitable causes. He loved children, trains, and kidding on his wife Jean to whom he was married for 53 years. He was fiercely proud of his family, as they are of him. He will be sadly missed by his son Mark (Angela), grandchildren Alexa and Aaron, sisters Kate (Bill) Thomson, and Diane Ritchie (Jim). Nieces and Nephews Elaine, Andrew, Jennifer, Alan, And grandniece Niamh. A celebration of Alex's life will be held at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum & Archives; 9 Wellington St. E, Brampton Sunday, March 22 from 2pm - 5pm. In lieu of flowers and in honour of Alex's love of children, please make a donation in his name to the Make-a-Wish Foundation Canada.
