Dear Dorrit,
Sorry to hear of Joe's passing please accept my sincere condolences. Sounds like you had a wonderful life together with Joe.
I think you will remember my family. We lived at 314 Roselawn Ave and my name is Donna France.
I remember you and your sister Mamie. You were such beautiful girls with auburn hair and fair skin. Your brother Ross was friends with my brother Ken. Bonnie and Glenda were friends with my sister Yvonne.
There are so many memories from that time rushing through my mind. Remember the death of Elise Prior in 1949 and only 18 years old. Tragic.
Many years after Elsie death probably in the mid 80's I saw a memoriam in The Star for Elsie from Jack Russell. I managed to get his phone number and actually call him. Jack told me he was in love with Elsie but his love was never reciprocated.
He sent me pictures of Elsie. I still keep a picture of her on my dresser to this day.
Elsie death must have been devastating to her parents as she was an only child. Another beautiful girl with auburn hair.
Do you remember Irene Hog? She was friends with Mamie. She married my brother Jim in 1948. Jim died in 1997.
Irene is now 90 years old living in St. Catherines and doing Fantastic!
There are only 3 France children alive today. Ken 83, me 81 & Yvonne 75.A little bit about me. I married in 1964 and had two children. My husband died in 2010. I know reside in Cobourg. Living Life as it Happens.
Just wanted let you know I still remember you and Joe from those days on Roselawn Ave.
