Obituary of David Woodford

Woodford, David Dodds (Woody) passed away in Orangeville, Ontario, December 29,2016. Dave is survived by his wife Valerie; their four children, Elizabeth (Matt) Poppe, Karen, Derek, Diana (Greg) Ready: grandchildren Nicolas Poppe, Autumn and Asia Ready; siblings Nora (Jim) West, Bruce (Judy), Heather (John) Okrafka; cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Annie and Wilfrid and his sister Elizabeth. Woody, as he was called by friends and coworkers, was a truck driver most of his life. He did long hauling for many years and loved it. The neighbourhood kids would line up when they heard his truck. He'd honk the horn and wave. In his later years he worked locally in security which let him indulge his night owl tendency. David's passion though was trains, trains and more trains. As an amateur photographer he traveled all over Ontario taking pictures of trains and train stations, making models of them in his spare time. He was a member of several model railroad clubs throughout the province. Our whole family loved attending the model railroad shows. David is loved and will be missed.
