U were a great man Dave. You and Valarie were incredibly generous to me. I was 14 years old...living in a foster home in Orangeville, and u were friends with my Dad. You guys kinda took me in and made me feel like a part of your family. I will never forget the kindness...although I didnt appreciate at the time. I just found out about your passing. So sad. I am a Lay Chaplain at Headwaters Hospital and had the honour of being with David an hour before he died. Because he wasn't able to communicate I asked God to accept his spirit when the time came for him to leave this earth. I read John 14 and prayed the Our Father. An hour later I re-entered David's room and observed he had gone to be with God. The picture of David reading the Christmas Story to his nieces and nephews in 2015 says a lot about him. I love the expression on the children's faces. Wish I had known him in better times as I love trains too.
