Celebration of Life
Obituary of Daniel Richard BECKNER
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Daniel Richard Beckner, beloved son of Nelda and the late Murray Beckner (2011), of Laurel, Ontario, on January 12th, 2025 at the age of 70.
Dan will be deeply missed by his brother and best friend, Charlie (Kim), his nieces, Corrine (Robert) and Nancy (Mark), and his grand-niece and nephew, Reese and Huck. Dan will also be remembered by several close friends who have supported him over the years and warmly welcomed by those he joins on the other side.
A licensed plumber, Dan chose a career in building maintenance and spent several years working at Bolton Camp and Conference Centre, staying on long after the facility was no longer in use. Later, he was employed by the Town of Orangeville, Parks and Recreation, assisting them seasonally until the labours became too difficult.
Raised on the family farm, Dan embraced the charm of rural living and found joy in the outdoors. He had a natural connection with animals, who seemed instinctively drawn to his kind and gentle nature. Known for his quick wit and calm, caring demeanor, Dan could always brighten a room with his humor and warmth.
Dan’s true passion was his love of Harleys and the open road. On clear mornings, we’d wake to the sound of his bike roaring to life, ready for another adventure. Whether he was travelling to Sturgis, riding solo, or cruising with friends on the weekend, those moments defined his life.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dufferin Oaks in Shelburne for all the care and compassion they showed Dan over these last few years.
We invite family and friends to join us for a Celebration of Dan’s Life at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc (28 Main Street N, Grand Valley) on Thursday, January 16th, 11am to 1pm.
