Q: What will you miss most about Gordon?
A: Gordie always looked out for the younger officers. If you were lucky enough to have had a relationship with him, you know he would always have your back. I was one of the fortunate ones and could always rely on him for advice. I’m going to miss all the laughs (and beers) we shared on the golf course. Mayfield and Batavia just won’t be the same. I’ll see you on the green, Gordie.

My deepest condolences to Gord's family.
I had the honour and pleasure to meet and work with him, in so many interesting and memorable ways. I will cherish those moments and the ones we created outside of the work environment.
May he rest in peace as we cherish and celebrate his life.

The Saunders Family would like to express our deepest condolences to the Morris family and friends.
We are two families, that have been forever bonded, from early childhood friendships and memories with Gail and our family, to our Brother in-law Frank who came into our family’s lives at the age of 9 years old and married my older sister Lorie, when Gord and I were only 15 years old. Through out the years our two families have come together at times to celebrate happy occasions and have all shared stories of happy occasions celebrated by each of our families, from birthdays, weddings, to birth of all our children and grandchildren. As the years have flown by, we have sadly come together more often then any of us would like to, to support one another in the loss of someone who was deeply loved and has touched all of our lives through shared occasions and memories.
Today we will join our Brother in-law Frank and our nephews Jeremy and Bradley and the rest of the Morris family and friends, to share memories and celebrate the life of you Gord, taken far too soon!
Rest in peace Gord❤️

I remember the 1st day you started at CBSA 33 yrs ago. We were not only coworkers, we became friends and you were also the best Supervisor. My nickname for you was “boss”.
I have so many fun memories of all the baseball and golf tournaments, Super Bowl parties, get togethers and more.
You were taken too soon, loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Rest in Peace boss.

Gordie is an amazing success as a human being. Memories of him brings a smile to the face. Humour, kindness and compassion is his creed. I love the Pig despite over 3 decades of e-mails proclaiming my having every deficiency known to humanity.

My sincerest condolences to Gord’s family and friends.
I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from Gord towards the end of my time with CBSA. Quite simply, Gord was a giant in our agency, a true visionary. Few people have had as much of an impact on our region and Agency as he did, and it was a privilege and an honor to work with him. His legacy will live on in the strong partnerships he helped to create over the years and in countless other ways.
Thank you Gord for setting an example we all strive to emulate. Being a remarkable leader and mentor who balanced compassion, empathy, and integrity on a daily basis. Thank you for your ceaseless dedication to the agency and the men and women you have faithfully supported over the duration of your career.
The CBSA, your community, your friends, and above all, your family, are better for your tireless commitment. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, the many friends and colleagues in our community. You will be missed but never forgotten. Rest in Peace Gordy.

Gordo, I don’t know how to express the loss I feel for you. You were always fun to be around, laughing and joking. I have many memories of our baseball days, tournaments, parties, golfing with the boys, wing night at Loose Change Charlies, Super Bowl, poker and the list goes on. You were also a very knowledgeable Investigator with CIC and then CBSA. You trained a lot of us and was a great mentor to all. Your insight and skills as a Supervisor and then A/Director will be missed by everyone at CBSA. I’m glad we celebrated your 60th Birthday and was happy to see the old Gordie laughing and smiling again. I’m so sorry your health took a turn for the worst that none of us expected. I will always keep you close to my heart and remember the fun times we had. RIP my friend, you are pain free now and hopefully taking care of my Kody Bear as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge a week before you left us. Love always Gina Fargnoli Crystal

My sincerest condolences to Gord's family and friends. Gord was a great mentor, leader, and such a valuable asset to the CBSA. I will never forget the day he took me out on my first "road call" while working my new position as an Inland Enforcement Officer. I had no idea what to expect, the risk was high... He worked together and he helped me in remaining calm, guided me through each step of the process, and ensured our safety. I really appreciated his one on one guidance and expertise. He will be dearly missed.

With thoughts of Cousin Gord come treasured memories, burnished by the passage of time to warm, mellow hues.
Our not infrequent visits to the Heart Lake country home of Uncle Jack & Aunt Helen gave us welcome opportunities to enjoy time with our Morris cousins - playing ping-pong in the basement; spectating ice hockey games in a local arena; or watching holiday slide shows with a fire crackling in the living room hearth. Then a teenager, Gord was always an active, dependably enthusiastic participant in these occasions, as he was when we delighted to spend a few summer weekends with the Morris Clan at their Balm Beach cottage. There, without fail, Grandma Morris took pleasure in relieving us of all our pennies in card games played at the dining room table. Gord is fondly remembered for taking more than a fair share of our loot too.. always with a BIG smile!
Yes, treasured memories of happy times in the company of dear relatives. Fondly remembering a very special cousin, Gord.

Hey Cous, to be honest, I’m still somewhat reeling from the shock your death. I mean, Dude, you’re the youngest of the Morris/Ball clan; you’re not supposed to be the first of us to die! And, to be perfectly honest, I sure didn’t need your death as further proof that life develops in unpredictable ways. Yet, Gord, you’ll always also stand as proof for me that life is worthwhile, even though it’s so relentlessly unpredictable. I’ll never forget the way you always wanted to connect, always wanted to share, always wanted to relate and care. I know that my father’s passion for frequent moves (oh, that Uncle Wes!) meant that we just didn’t have a lot of time together in our growing years, but did I ever see your gift for connection when your mother, my Aunt Helen, was in her last days at the homestead on Heart Lake Road. In that sense, although the baby of the brood, you have always epitomized the very best of the characteristics that romp around in our shared Morris/Hendershot/Ball genes. Know that you are profoundly loved, Gord. Know that you are profoundly missed. Know that you have made a hugely positive difference and that I can’t wait to connect with you once again on the other side. Warren Ball

As a cousin of Gord (who is in the same age range) I do have some fond childhood memories. Because we lived so far apart, our times together were limited but when we moved back to Canada, our Moms, who were sisters, took advantage of a few opportunities to connect. On those special occasions we would use the church next door (which was also my Dads workplace) as our playground and enjoy the hours together playing ping pong as well as a large area to ‘hide and seek’. It was during one of those games that I realized how much chewing gum was under those pews but most importantly, how kind and gentle natured this boy, who was so close in age and genetics, really was. We were practically like strangers at that point in life and yet we had quite a bit in common. He was very comfortable to be around, and that is always how I will remember him ❤️.
To you Gord and your loving brothers, on behalf of all your “Ball” cousins, we send so much love, respect and sympathy.
Winona
