Dear Sharon, Kyle and Katelyn
Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I remember having coffees with Dave in the summer… it was never too hot to have coffee.
Our condolences

I’ve known Dave for most of my life. He worked with and was good friends with my dad. When I was younger I would always see him around and look at him with awe - he was so big and seemed a bit scary. But when I was older and also worked with Koki, I was able to get to know him well. I soon realized that he was one of those gentle giants, though he always liked to give me the electric rib every now and then when I’d bug him too much. Over the years we worked together we became good friends. I have so many wonderful memories of him: he taught me how to play deuces, he tried teaching me how to drive stick when he’d drop me off at home, and he’d always make me laugh. He was such a good, kind-hearted person and I am really going to miss him. Love, Michael (aka Plug Jr)

I knew David for more than 30 years. During this time we became great friends and made a lot of fond memories together, especially at Dempsters. One time we went out for lunch and were just sitting in the car. It was the night Ben Johnson won the gold medal in the 100m dash and we both went crazy! But then the next day we found out he was stripped and had sad faces. I will also remember learning early on never to bug Koki and stay out of his way because he’d take you out! But even though he always acted like a big tough guy, he was as soft as a teddy bear on the inside. He was the type of person that could be counted on for anything. My last memory of Koki is particularly special because I share it with my son. The three of us had a series of funny events that make me laugh every time I think of it till this day. I was deeply saddened to hear about David’s passing. I would have loved to have seen him more. He is a friend that I will always cherish and remember being part of my life. I will miss him a lot. Love, Bill (aka Butt Plug)
