There are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone as special as your dad. We are so honoured to have known Dave for the past several years. He was an amazing father to his three wonderful children. We are forever grateful to Dave for giving us such a wonderful daughter-in-law (Lisa).
My fondest memory of Dave was watching him and Lisa dance to “My Girl” at Lisa and Kevin’s wedding. I have to say that I was quite impressed at how he glided around the dance floor to that song! We will miss you dearly. Our deepest sympathies go out to the whole family.

I met Matty playing hockey in the DBHL He was a force both on & off the rink. The loss of a good friend is like losing a part of yourself. You never forget them, no matter where life takes you. God Speed Matty

I had only sporadic contact with Matty in the past 30 years...we spent alot of time together in the 80's...what stood out was his big smile and keen sense of humor...
In particular, euchre games at the kitchen table on Picardy ave....
When a hand didn't go his way,he would let loose with an exquisitely sardonic "Of course!"...the entire table wud erupt, gales of laughter
Sincere condolences to the entire family...

Warmest condolences to Peter and Dave’s family. I was in the year behind Dave at Dorval Gardens and Dorval High School, but he and my brother Bryan were good friends. He came down several times to our family cottage near Lyon Mountain, New York. One perfect winter day, he led us out onto the frozen lake. We built a pretty big ice rink and played out there for hours. Dave was such a terrific skater — so natural, so quick and infectiously happy darting about. He was a great guy. I feel so fortunate to have known him, his folks (who welcomed us when we went over to visit Dave), Peter and Janet, and share in the grief of his passing. With heartfelt sympathy.

I was fortunate to play goal behind Dave for a couple of seasons. He was my D-Man in the Sunday Meds League. I wont forget his "encouraging" humor and sarcasm. He once told me that I was not ready to play when the team gathered in my crease just before puck drop. When I asked him why, he responded that I forgot to put the sheet of plywood behind me to stop the puck because there was no way I was going to do it. It took me an entire period to stop laughing. I'll never forget that quick exchange with him. It was always fun to play with him. He is missed! I offer my condolences to all his loved ones.
Sincerely,
Anthony Scire

Stan loved you dearly and he would want the whole family to know that. I am the late comer, but always felt I wanted to know you better. Unfortunately, I never got that chance, but I will miss you and your amazing smile. It lights up a room. Much love,
Iris

I had the great privilege of playing hockey with Matty for many years.
Many Pelly Opens and hockey tournaments always a big smile and a few beers.
The best of my friendship with Matty was when I moved to Toronto he welcomed me with many BBQ’s at the house.
Amazing friend and teammate. He will be missed greatly.
My condolences to the whole family.
Regards, Mike

I met Dave over 50 years ago and we had countless great times playing hockey, ball hockey, bug, football, the odd pint, memorable trips to Vegas and the list is endless. Dave always lit up a room and loved to laugh and throw out the funniest off the cuff remarks. We shared many laughs together and all my memories will live on with me forever. My deepest condolences to his family. RIP buddy.

Poppy
You were a father to me, a friend, and a damn good competitor in everything we embarked on.
You taught me how to cook a steak and put me in my place when I needed it the most. I will always appreciate you for that.
You will be forever missed.
We love you. Rest in Peace
