Obituary of Darren Frederick NORGAARD
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darren Frederick Norgaard on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Brampton Civic Hospital, at the age of 45.
He is greatly missed by his son, Dane, his brothers Glenn and Richard, his mother Donna and father Gert (predeceased 2009)and nephew Justin. He will also be missed by Uncle Bill, Aunt Brenda, Aunt June and Uncle Peer, cousins Teena, Jeff (Laura), Kim (Sam), Darryl (Dextra), Janine (Scott), Patrick (Beth), Genevieve (Nick), Kevin (Lorena), Melissa (Sean), Sharon (Al), Niels (Tina), Andrew (Victoria), AnnaMarie (Dan), Anita (Timothy), Lisa (Jay) and extended family.
He is beloved by his many treasured friends, who were like family and he was always willing to lend a hand where needed.
Darren loved hiking at Mono Cliffs with his son Dane, hiking the Island Lake Walking Trail with his Mom and nephew Justin, and hiking the Boyne Valley Bruce Trail, often with family and friends, up to Gert's dedication bench. He was a personal trainer for several years and also enjoyed a challenging and skilled game of poker. Darren had a great sense of humour and always looked forward to the hugs and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Cremation has already taken place. To honour Darren's life, family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church - 42 Dawson Road, Orangeville, ON, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 12 Cemetery Road, Orangeville, ON.
At the completion of the interment, family and friends are invited to attend the memorial luncheon at In Memoriam Funeral Services - 28 Main Street North, Grand Valley, ON, L9W 5S7. The luncheon reception will be available to guests immediately following the completion of the Mass starting at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Blood Bank and the Bruce Trail Conservancy are appreciated in Darren's memory.
