I had the opportunity to get to know Leo when I got shipped in to work the odd shift at Station 109. He was the Captain there and I was a firefighter then, back when I was on D shift. We discovered that we both liked playing the guitar. One day he mentioned that he really liked the song, Black Velvet by Alannah Myles and wanted to know if I knew how to play it on the guitar and if I could show him the chords. We both plucked away at it and didn't do the song any real justice, but had fun nonetheless. It's a silly little memory, but one that sticks with me when I think about Leo. He was a great guy and am glad I got to know him, even if just a bit. My sincerest condolences to Leo's family and friends, I know he will be truly missed. Kind regards, Bill Montgomery
