Obituary of Merritt Edward GORDON

Gordon, Merritt Edward February 27, 1924 - July 19, 2021 With sorrow his family announces the passing of Merritt Gordon in Orangeville, Ontario on July 19th at the age of 97. Merritt was born in Edmonton, Alberta and lived in Vancouver until he served in the RCAF during WW11. Having earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Merritt joined Canadian General Electric and eventually moved to Peterborough, Ontario where he spent the majority of his career and raised his family. He was married to Bette Gordon (nee Beacock) until her death in 1978. He later married Mary Gordon (nee Addyman) until her passing in 2005. Merritt leaves 2 children, Shelley, and Robert, 3 stepchildren, Jaye, Krista and Tere, 4 grandchildren, Keri, Alaina, Colleen and Merritt, 2 step-grandchildren, Mason and Meritt and 3 great-grandchildren, Taya, Gigi and Ruby. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah in 2014. Merritt believed strongly in helping others.
