Dear Family of Wallace and Barbara, I had the pleasure of meeting your parents a few years ago when I was doing Elgie genealogy research. Wallace descends from Cicely Elgie and I descend from her brother George Elgie, which makes us fourth cousins. I spent a delightful day with them in their lovely home. They both had very good memories, so they were able to give me a lot of information about the descendants of John Elgie and Margaret Nichol. We looked at photos, read some history and talked about our shared interests in agriculture and farming. They were gracious hosts and I have fond memories of that visit. Some day I hope to have the pleasure of meeting each of you, as well as other members of the family to further explore our shared ancestry. Sincerely, Mary Anne Elgie Connell Palmerston

With sincere sympathy, we wish to express our condolences in the passing of Wallace. Mom and Dad always spoke fondly of Wallace and his family as prominent and caring members of the Horning's Mills/Honeywood farming communities. We all would like to extend our thoughts to each member of the Elgie family and hope that the wonderful memories of Wallace will continue to live on in their hearts.

It is with the deepest of sympathies and the most sincerest condolences that we hear of the passing of Wallace. Wallace was not only a neighbor but a friend and a long time supporter. He purchased some of the first machinery that I sold at auction back in 1986 if memory serves me correctly. I will miss the many chats we had over the years. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

We are very sad to read about Wallace’s passing. We purchased part of a farm from Wallace in 1988. From then on we had a great relationship with Wallace and Barb for many years. Our condolences to his children and grandchildren (and I’m thinking maybe great grandchildren). He is now reunited with his beloved Barb and his wonderful daughter Gwen. RIP Wallace.
