Obituary of Garry Ray DAVIS
July 23, 1946 - May 14, 2021
"Garry Davis; laid to rest"
a statement he would often jest
and tragically, it came to be
that Garry passed on May 14.
At 11:07 am
of his 75th year, surrounded by kin,
he passed peacefully in his bed
to rest up for the journey ahead.
Predeceased by siblings Ted and Colleen,
leaving loving wife of 44 years, Christine,
and devastated only daughter Kate
with Garrith, her newly-wed lifemate.
Garry led a life of glee
(despite being born in Sudbury)
Growing up in Lindsay, Ontario,
and attending Queen's University with his bro,
where he played on the Queens Rugby Team
and earned three Degrees and his teaching dream.
Only to flee from the teaching occupation
and become a salesman across the nation
within the network of hospital logistics
he grew his company, Davis Diagnostics.
And all the while he was a coach for his brat
for every slapped puck and each up-to-bat.
He played hockey 'till his 73rd year,
always keen to join the lads after for a beer!
He traveled to Cuba, Panama and England
South Korea - his last trip with Kate - was grand.
He was the biggest Habs fan under the sun,
his favorite player was 'Boom Boom' Geoffrion!
He always loved seeing relatives and friends
and kept up his wonderful humor 'till the end.
He was smart and goofy and quick to laugh
and hopefully he would like this epitaph!
Garry, you will be missed terribly;
Dad, life without you hurts unbearably;
but we are grateful and proud to have loved you on Earth
be safe out there in the Universe.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no formal memorial service. Donations can be made in Garry's honor at a charity of your choosing.
