So sorry and condolences to the family. I briefly knew Garry. He assisted my class on a winter week long excursion, and I was privileged in this short time to meet an exceptional man. Friendly, open, honest, humorous, a joy to be with. I also had the privilege of teaching daughter Kate for two years. An exceptional young lady in an exceptional group of peers. I was introduced to Sunday morning Hillsburgh hockey some years ago. Garry was a true gentleman, with always a smile. I have nothing but fond memories of our short time together with the hockey gang. Thinking of you Kate and Chris. My heart sunk when I heard the news. I will think of the endless days that I spent at your home. Garry's energy and enthusiasm was always infectious and he always made me feel at home. I was grateful to see him at my own dad's funeral. Garry, my friend you will be missed... drives back and forth to Sunday morning hockey, epic rounds of golf and just hanging around having a beer or four. I met Garry in 2007 and immediately fell in love with this wonderful gentle soul. I traveled with Garry (working with Biocare) throughout Ontario, while he imparted his wisdom, and introduced me to so many people. I had my first 'cider beer' on a very cold evening in Ottawa while dump trucks hauled away more snow than I have ever seen. I am so sad that I was not able to say 'goodnight', dear Garry...however, I will forever thank him and raise a glass of cider beer! Cheers friend! You will be missed.
