Obituary of James Fredrick Carr

James “Jimmy” Fredrick Carr II, died peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2015 - 10 days before what would have been his 82nd birthday. Always with a song in his heart or a joke to be told, a hug to be given or a smile to brighten your day. Jimmy Carr was a father, brother, uncle and an all around stubbornly good guy. Born in Montreal on 11-22-33 as he would always say, Jimmy was a hard working, proud father of Debbie, Jim and Janey, father in-law to Guy, Nathalie and Earl and a boasting grandfather of Branden, Rylan, Chandler, Jordyn, Julia and Colby. He was predeceased by all of his siblings, Wes, Trudy, Kay, Shirley, Chuck, George, Mae and Don and will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, often being called their favourite uncle. The simple pleasures of a butter tart, some tea “with lots of milk” and country music playing in the background, Jimmy lived his life his way and with few regrets. There was always time for an old movie, a singsong or a big helping of fish and chips’. He loved to laugh. Karaoke on Friday nights, dancing with anyone who would join him and the open mic’s and jam sessions on the weekends, made him so very happy. He was often the one in the center of the room, holding court with a joke or a song. This has been a long 9-year battle with one thing or the next medically, and so we thank the long list of doctors, nurses and friends who have tried so very hard to help, especially the staff at Ross Memorial, PRHC and Headwaters Healthcare Centre Including, Amy Pruett, Dr. Lee, Dr. Cattral, Dr Laura Dawson and Dr. Candusso. CCAC and PSW staff including Jenny and Spectrum Health nurse Tiffany. Thanks for the friendship and support of Meryl, Yvonne, Dave and Alynn. He spent his last 3 weeks surrounded by lush yellow flowers, music and stories of love, life and laughter from a stream of friends and family at Bethell House. So thank you to the amazing staff and the caring volunteers for laughing at every unclear joke and changing the music when it needed to be changed and for making him comfortable beyond belief in his last days. Your tireless and loving efforts will always be remembered among our happy thoughts. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Jimmy’s name to Bethell Hospice - 15835 McLaughlin Road, Inglewood, ON L7C 1H4, Telephone: 905-838-3534, Fax: 905-838-0302 (https://bhf.akaraisin.com/Donation/Event/DonationType.aspx?seid=3800&mid=48&Lang=en-CA) We will all come together early in 2016 to share loving memories, play music, laugh and love in a celebration worthy of the music man, Jimmy Carr. But life goes on, and this old world will keep on turning. Let's just be glad we had some time to spend together." Thank you, Debbie, Jim and Janey Xo
