Obituary of Robert Wakeling

Robert “Bob” Ernest Wakeling September 5 1940 – May 15, 2016 Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the age of 75, Bob completed his work here on this Earth. Greeting him in heaven were his grandson Robert, brothers Jack, Tom & Terry and his sister Frances. Bob was an extremely hard working man all of his life and was a jack of all trades. He spent many years as the manager of the Shelburne Sports Complex, was one of the first people in Ontario to operate a Zamboni, and for the remainder of his life he maintained a housing complex in Mount Forest, Ontario. He was the husband to Gail for 58 years. He was a well-loved father of 4 children – Thomas “George” (Jeanette), Maureen (Gino), Kim (Terry), and Carol “Buffy” (Jim) and was a well-loved and cherished papa of 11 grandchildren – Crystal, Amanda, Robert, Andy, Lindsey, Grant, Darren, Matthew, Bettina, T.J & Emily, as well as 8 great grandchildren Hayli, Peyton, Riley, Ella, Alyx, Bowen, Brooklynn and Autumn. Internment will take place Saturday June 18, 2016 at the Mount Forest Cemetery and a “come and go” celebration of life will take place following internment at the Mount Forest Fire Hall on June 18, 2016 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation . “Your work is done, now rest your wings”
