We would like to thank everyone for your flowers, well wishes and condolences during this incredibly difficult time. It gives us some comfort to know that Ed was respected and loved among our family, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.

Andrea. I'm so sorry for your loss. As you know, I haven't seen Ed basically since high school. But he was an awesome friend to grow up with. I remember with great fondness our bike rides to visit his sister. The times he invited me to his cottage, and the great joy of riding in his seaflea boat. Our soccer games together. Ball hockey in the court. And so many other great childhood and coming of age stories. It sounds like he had a great, positive impact on everyone that knew him, and that he will be deeply missed. Please pass along my condolences to your children, and if they ever want to hear some stories about their Dad when he was a very young man, I would be pleased to share them. Ed and have been together for 42 years and losing him now at this early age has been quite a shock. I really appreciate hearing from you on this website. I had the privilege to be a team mate of ed's on the over 50 ball team and also on the Glen Eagle team when he won his 1st jacket. His smile and laughter will be missed. I was in shock when i heard the sad news about Ed as i was also a team mate of his this year.
I always will remember Eddie as being a good friend who treated everyone as a friend, and for his colorful language and wit.

Whenever I spoke to Ed, I knew that when the conversation was done, I would be in a better mood than I was when it started. Ed was probably the most honest communicator I have had the pleasure of knowing. He loved his family, his country, Canadian Beer and Canadian coffee. My heart aches for your loss. When we started up Mississauga, I spent a lot of time here and there assisting with training and spend a lot of time with Ed - even a couple Blue Jays games. I first met Ed at Sunday ball where his red shoes earned him the nickname Dorothy. He was a Sunday morning regular for many years and acted as the Sergeant at Arms for the Reverend reminding people when they had yet to pay their Sunday morning dues. He had a competitive nature and his colourful vocabulary left no doubt when he was upset by his performance. He was a vocal supporter of his teammates and a great guy to sit on the bench with. He had a presence that made him a person his team would look to for encouragement or commentary during a game. It was a joy at the beginning of the season to find out I had been drafted to the same team as Ed and I was fortunate to play with him many years. We never won together but we always had a good time. Even though he felt he had already done enough time on ball committees, he selflessly agreed to help me out on the P.M.S. executive for a year when I asked him. When he finally won his first jacket it wasn't just his team that celebrated, the entire park rejoiced. The year he won his second jacket he was playing against me in the finals and made a diving catch on a line drive at second base in the seventh inning to save a run. I asked him since he already had a jacket if he couldn't have let that one go so I could win one. He replied, "Sorry Zeeb, you have to earn it." Thanks Eddie, I will miss your sense of humour, your vocal outbursts and most of all your friendship.

I first met Ed at Sunday ball where his red shoes earned him the nickname Dorothy. He was a Sunday morning regular for many years and acted as the Sergeant at Arms for the Reverend reminding people when they had yet to pay their Sunday morning dues. He had a competitive nature and his colourful vocabulary left no doubt when he was upset by his performance. He was a vocal supporter of his teammates and a great guy to sit on the bench with. He had a presence that made him a person his team would look to for encouragement or commentary during a game. It was a joy at the beginning of the season to find out I had been drafted to the same team as Ed and I was fortunate to play with him many years. We never won together but we always had a good time. Even though he felt he had already done enough time on ball committees, he selflessly agreed to help me out on the P.M.S. executive for a year when I asked him. When he finally won his first jacket it wasn't just his team that celebrated, the entire park rejoiced. The year he won his second jacket he was playing against me in the finals and made a diving catch on a line drive at second base in the seventh inning to save a run. I asked him since he already had a jacket if he couldn't have let that one go so I could win one. He replied, "Sorry Zeeb, you have to earn it." Thanks Eddie, I will miss your sense of humour, your vocal outbursts and most of all your friendship.

Andrea and family,
My heart aches for your loss. When we started up Mississauga, I spent a lot of time here and there assisting with training and spend a lot of time with Ed - even a couple Blue Jays games. Knew about Andrea, the kids, and Lincoln! He has such a strong spirit. This is just unbelievable. My true sympathies to all of you.

Whenever I spoke to Ed, I knew that when the conversation was done, I would be in a better mood than I was when it started. Ed was probably the most honest communicator I have had the pleasure of knowing. He loved his family, his country, Canadian Beer and Canadian coffee. I will greatly miss our talks and seeing him in person. May God's grace provide comfort and peace.

I had the privilege to be a team mate of ed's on the over 50 ball team and also on the Glen Eagle team when he won his 1st jacket. His smile and laughter will be missed. I was in shock when i heard the sad news about Ed as i was also a team mate of his this year.
I always will remember Eddie as being a good friend who treated everyone as a friend, and for his colorful language and wit.
