Obituary of Elaine Geraldine Sorensen

Passed away peacefully in her 80th year on December 16th, 2017 at the Avalon Care Centre. Cherished wife of the late Robert (Bob) Sorensen (2017). She will be greatly missed by her four children Janice (Bob), Greg (Gayle), Linda (Wayne) and Dan (Tracey). Adored Grandma of Alysia (Mike), Brittney (Matt), Adam (Olenka), Christine, Kaila (Phil) and Cameron as well as her five great grandchildren. Also predeceased by her parents Lillian and Gerald Davey, sisters Marilyn McCabe, Brenda Stetcher and niece Deanna. Her greatest joy and love was her family. She will be remembered as having the biggest heart of anyone we knew. Her love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was like no other. “Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest for a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, by going has given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.” Our family would like to thank the staff at the Avalon Centre for her care. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made in memory of Elaine to the Alzheimer Society.
