Obituary of Jeanette Mary Hilliard

Jeanette Mary Hilliard Passed away peacefully July 9, 2018 with family members at her side. She had been predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur W. Hilliard and her parents Joe and Clara Mack, her brother Joe Mack and sister Eleanor Karmil. Jeanette is survived by her stepson Robert Hilliard and his family of Dawson City, sister Barbara Elchuk of Shelburne. As well as many nieces, nephews from the Mack, Karmill and Elchuk families both in Canada and the USA. Jeanette was born in Indiana August 24, 1931. She was one of four children and lived there until she moved to Canada in the mid 1950’s. Upon arriving in Canada, she made her life as a Registered nurse and worked for Litton Systems until her retirement. During her working life she shared a love for music, recreational boating and touring many places around the world with her husband until his passing in the late 1970’s. She made many life long friends during this time. Jeanette in her retirement enjoyed life. She was very caring and compassionate to her family and did her best to keep in touch with her friends. Jeanette Mary Hilliard touched many hearts during her life. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of many. This void will now be filled with the fond loving memories of those whom were blessed with being a part of her life while she was with us all. For now, she is in Heaven surrounded by the loved ones that had passed before her. Those that have survived her now have a new angel watching over us all. As per Jeanette’s request she will be buried along side her husband in a private service. She further requested that no formal service be arranged. She would prefer for family and friends to gather amongst themselves and enjoy a lunch or dinner in honor of her life. She has further requested that if desired donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation can be made.
