Obituary of Marjorie Legate

Marjorie Flewwelling Legate – May 13th, 1922 - Sept. 24th, 2018. One of nine children. Wife of Carman Samuel Legate. Mother to Colleen, Carmen-Ellen, Lillian, Lloyd, Lynne Anne and Donnelda, and BobbiLee. Grandmother and Great Grandmother (otherwise known as Gigi), and Great-great Grandmother to so many others. She was hardworking – served as an event planner in a hotel, worked within a welding plant, worked as a nurse at St. Joseph’s hospital in Guelph and in the at Grooves Memorial hospital in Fergus until she retired. She had a love of gardening and crafts – of all kinds. She taught many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to knit and crotchet. She spent time on her weaving looms making table runners and placements for family and friends. When she wasn’t busy with a new project, she was an avid reader and devoured several books a week. Or she could be found playing solitaire in the mornings before the sun rose. She loved to bake and spent many hours with her grandchildren and great grandchildren making yummy treats. The recipes are treasured and will be passed down for generations to come. She was a loving woman who adored her family. And she was adored by all of us as well. She was the matriarch of a family that has grown to over 50 people that span the US and Canada. She will be missed immensely by us all. We love you Gigi. A Celebration of Marjorie's Life will be held at The Centre Fellowship Church, 375 Hansen Blvd, Orangeville, on Sunday October 28, 2018 from 2:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc. has been given the honour to serve the Legate Family.
