Obituary of Sylvia Louise FOSTER

Sylvia Louise Foster (September 11, 1964 – October 10, 2018) Sylvia Foster, daughter of the late Albert and Jean Foster, and sister of Gloria and Ron (Gwen), passed away peacefully at the Avalon Care Centre on Wednesday October 10, 2018, at the age of 54. Sylvia graduated from O.D.S.S. where she wrote and illustrated a children’s book (unpublished). She attended Sheridan College for approximately two and one - half years, but left when the professors told her they were ruining her natural talent. Sylvia enjoyed doing animal portraits, landscapes etc., and designing the annual family Christmas cards. She loved her cats and collected photos and pictures of barns for future projects. Her favourite sports teams were the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Sylvia worked at Drummond Business Forms in Orangeville for three years and was proud of her red Mustang. For nineteen years, she was responsible for ticket sales for the Caledon Townhall Players. After coping with symptoms for approximately one year, Sylvia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (one month after her father’s death) at the age of 24. Four days prior to her 29th birthday, Sylvia had a very serious pulmonary embolism and had been unable to walk since then. In late 2014, she lost the use of both hands. Despite all these challenges, Sylvia maintained a positive attitude and was an inspiration to many. Sylvia’s family would like to thank the staff at the Avalon Care Centre for taking care of her for the past three years and, also, the staff of “F” and “D” Wings at Headwaters Health Care Centre for the care during her recent visits. A special thank you to her Hospice Volunteer for her weekly visits. If desired, donations to the MS Society, the Relessey Cemetery Board, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by Sylvia’s family. As per Sylvia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Sylvia’s Life will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the In Memoriam Life Celebration Centre, 633419 Highway 10, Mono, Ontario. - Casual Attire Please -
