Obituary of Patricia Mae Plester

Plester; Patricia Mae (nee Platt), P.M. Grey Chapter #170 After a lengthy battle, Patricia passed away peacefully at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in her 79th year. Loving mother of Laura (Harold) Cook of Dundalk, Doug (former wife Patricia) of Guelph and Carman W (Kirsten) of Fergus. Loved and remembered by grandchildren Anderson, Robert (Christina), Jordan (Jessica) and Aaron Cook, Sophia, Angelina, Brendan and Brianna Plester. Proud great grandmother of Liam, Ronan, Abrielle, Alivia, Adalynn, and Audrey, Emmerson & Georgia. Dear sister of Shirley Wilson, Joe (Brenda) Platt and sister in-law Jeanne Platt. Predeceased by brothers Willard and Jim Platt and brother in-law Bob Wilson. Fondly remembered step son George (Janice) and their children; Adam, Apryl, Matthew & Deidra and former daughter in-law Sherry (John) Pottage and their children Greg (Amanda) and Eric. Patricia was born on April 12, 1940 to Bert and Myrtle Platt in Wingham, Ontario. She attended elementary school in Wingham and then moved to Orangeville for her highschool. Patricia proudly raised her family on a farm in Rock Mills, cleaned the one room house, took on sewing and attained a driver’s license as an adult. As the kids grew, she took on a job at the shoe factory in Markdale, joined the Order of the Eastern Star and was Worthy Matron of Grey Chapter, #170 and a member of the organization for over 47 years. She will be fondly remembered in Dundalk from the arena at the concession stand. Many hours were spent at the lot with her grandchildren, (what happened at the lot stays at the lot). A very crafty lady, always gifting her family with crocheted gifts or sewn bunny bags, an avid reader and baked in abundance, especially at Christmas. At Patricia’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and interment in the Grand Valley Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the World Vision Foundation or any charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated. The family will be holding a Celebration Of Patricia’s Life at the In Memoriam Life Celebration Centre, 633419 Highway 10, Mono, Ontario from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday October 19, 2018.
