Obituary of Dorothy James

James, Dorothy After a 27 year battle with Parkinson’s, Dorothy passed away peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre, on January 16, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born on December 9, 1945 at the Dufferin Area Hospital, Dorothy was the proud daughter of the late William (d.1979) and Gwen Lisk (d.1997); beloved wife of Ron James and the late Leslie Langridge (d.1983); cherished mother of Ellen (Michael) Hall, Chris (Rob) McCoy, Bill (Sarah) Langridge; proud grandmother of Robyn (Robert), Jeremy and Devin, Wesley and Thomas, Alora and Dylan; great grandmother of Nathan and Timothy. Dorothy, will be missed by her loving cousins, Marilyn Mutch and Sandra Dannys along with many family and friends. Dorothy was a successful business partner and third generation of amazingly strong community minded women to own Parsons’ Florist. She was a lover of nature, traveled across Canada and loved to visit her extended family in England. She was a talented photographer, artist, poet and painter. Dorothy, loved drawing and all forms of art, music as well as live musical theater. Dorothy was an avid gardener who was well known for her extensive flora culture displays. She always enjoyed a fast ride in the Cuda or flights in the Cessna Cardinal with the love of her life. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held on Saturday February 2, 2019 at St. Marks Anglican Church, 5 First Avenue, Orangeville, Ontario at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to service time. At Dorothy’s request, Expressions of sympathy in the form of floral designs will adorn the celebration and be delivered to the recipient of your choice in her memory after the service.
