There are no words to take away the sadness when you lose someone you love. May all the memories you have give you and the Bertolo Family strength and comfort in the days ahead.

Q: How did you meet Dean?
A: Our neighbor for 10 years in Mono, Dean always had the tool you might need. We met both Dean and Dawna when they drove up the driveway on a sled after the first snow. We will always remember New Years Eve, walking in the pond drinking Fireball from his flask. God speed Dean. To Dawna and the kids….he may be gone from sight, but never from our hearts.

Everyday was an adventure. When we received notice of your diagnosis, you shrugged your shoulders and said, "It is what it is". You were determined to give your best fight. Doctors were amazed by your positive attitude, your strength and your love for life & your family. I am so proud of how you lived through the pain, not showing our children the bad, but being the great role model that you have always been. I feel blessed that we had over 28 years of fun, adventure, laughter, 3 children, ups & downs, but our love stayed true from day one. My heart breaks at the thought of not growing old with you, but know that you gave me a lifetime of love. You still give me butterflies with every thought of you.

I met Dean through Dawna. He had a way of teasing me and making me laugh. I always enjoyed his laugh and his presence. He will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to had the privilege to have met him.

Dean was a great neighbor and friend. Always up for helping us with anything we don’t know. He would jump in the truck with the family and be at our door step in minutes. We will truly miss our go to guy! Dean was so loved by his family. Rest in peace my friend no more pain!

So many good times with Dean. So many laughs.
Just remembering all of the crazy trips to car shows and stock car races and concerts in Michigan, and the country music festival in Wisconsin, BTO concert on St. Joe’s, falling though a beaver dam at Spruce Lake, a way too big campfire at Ranger Lake, blowing up his Cougar on the bridge and pushing it through Customs... and so many crazy times. How did we afford all of that beer?
Our sincerest condolences to Dawna, Abigayle, Devyn and Marshall, the whole Bertolo family and all of Deans’s many, many friends, old and new. The world has lost a good man.
Rest in peace old partner

Bertolo family! You will always be in my heart and prayers.
I will always remember Ruaidhri’s kind and nurturing friendship with my Ruaidhri. Since Ruaidhri was a wee one Dean always had a smile for him, or reading of his blanket or Ruaidhri would wait up for Dean on sleepover nights.
Dean shared a loving part of his life with us and we are greatful.
