Theodore "Ted" Sharpe O'Connor

December 28, 1964 – October 24, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theodore Sharpe O'Connor, lovingly known as "Ted," who passed away on October 24th, 2024, in Orangeville, with his sons by his side.

Born on December 28th, 1964, in Renfrew, Ontario, Ted spent his early years in the Ottawa Valley before moving to Orangeville in 1975. From a young age, Ted’s love for baseball flourished; he spent countless hours on the diamond, where his passion for the game was as steadfast as his determination and humor. A graduate of Orangeville District Secondary School’s class of 1984, Ted followed his heart into carpentry and woodworking, transforming his talent into a lifelong career. His creations and handiwork became a proud part of his legacy, built with dedication and care.

Ted was a man of many passions. He could talk about movies for hours, enjoyed perfecting his golf swing, and was known far and wide for his incredible sense of humour that could brighten anyone’s day. He was also an accomplished cook, delighting family and friends with meals made with the same love and precision he brought to his work.

Ted is survived by his two beloved sons, Matt and Mike O'Connor, who carry forward his love for life and laughter, as well as his mother, Sharpie O'Connor, who was his unwavering supporter and confidant. He is predeceased by his father, Will O'Connor, who passed in 2015, and his brother, Dan O'Connor, who passed in 1983. His family and friends will forever remember him as a man with a kind heart, a joyful spirit, and a knack for bringing people together.

A celebration of Ted's life will be held at a later date, with details to come.
