Wilhelmus (Wim) Theodorus Eichhorn

October 29, 1942 – October 14, 2024

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we said goodbye to our dear echtgenoot (husband), Papa (father), Opa and Opi on October 14, 2024 at the age of 81.

Wim was the dear & loving husband to Greet for 62 years, loving and cherished Papa to Yvonne (Willem), Frank (Kathy), Ron (Colleen), Brenda (John) and Marco.  Loving and fun Opa to Daniel, Kimberley (Kell), Devon (Emily), Melvin (Kim), Cassie (Paul), Emily (Tyler), Kyle (Shannon), Courtney (Levy), Hailey and Lindsay.  Bonus Opa to Jesika, Branden, Hope and Noah and a loving Opi to his great grandchildren.

Wim is survived by his sister Rie and predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Jan, Tienie, Chris, Jopie and Wil.

Wim and Greet immigrated to Canada from Holland in 1982 with their 5 children and their future son-in-law (Willem) and settled in Orangeville near Wim’s oldest brother Jan and his family.  Having been in the garage door business in Holland, Wim decided to continue it in Canada and started the family garage door business in 1983 and it continues to be successfully owned and operated by his children still to this day.

Wim and Greet enjoyed many years of retirement together in their 5^th wheel trailer travelling to the shores of Alabama.  They also spend many holidays visiting their oldest daughter and family in Holland.  Wim leaves a big void in all our hearts, and he will be greatly missed by his family, extended family and friends.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Relessey Cemetery (Cheques can be made payable to Relessey Church and mailed to 874548 5th Line EHS Mono ON L9W 6A8) or The Canadian Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Wim’s life will be held at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc. (28 Main St N, Grand Valley, ON L9W 5S7) on Tuesday October 22, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Words of remembrance will take place at 12:00 pm.
