Obituary of Elgin Emerson LIGHTHEART

August 31, 1946 - August 5, 2025

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Elgin Emerson Lightheart on August 5, 2024.
Elgin passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston in his 78th year.

Elgin was the loving husband to Linda (Teeter) for 54 years until her passing in 2020.  He was a proud father to Richard (Connie) and Krista (Donald) and loving grandfather to Matthew, Emily and Rachel. Elgin was predeceased by his parents Robert and Aileen Lightheart and siblings Phyllis Wilson and Murray Lightheart.

Elgin worked for many years at Performance Packaging in Orangeville until his retirement in 2018. Elgin lived in the hamlet of Horning's Mills for the majority of his life and enjoyed sitting on his deck with a cold beer and listening to country music.  He always had a joke and a smile for anyone that would stop by for a visit. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, strong work ethic and his eagerness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
