He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend, whose generous spirit and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Born on September 11, 1946 in Montreal, QC, John lived a life filled with purpose and dedication.

Beloved father to three sons; Andrew, Thomas and Matthew, his legacy of love and wisdom is carried on by his seven grandchildren; Ashton, Cameron, Brady, Aynsley, Easton, Emersyn, and Sloan.

John served his country with honour as a Captain in the Canadian Forces Reserve, specifically in the Cadet Instructor Corps. He commanded the 246 Air Cadet Squadron before transitioning to the role of public affairs officer for the Central Region. His leadership and commitment to the cadets were exemplary, leaving a lasting impact on many young lives.

John, better known to many as “Pops”, was known for his kindness, sense of humour, work ethic, and storytelling. He dedicated his career to broadcasting and the Canadian Forces, where he was respected and admired by colleagues. His passion for airplanes, movies and reading brought joy to his life and those around him. A pillar of strength and support, John lived by the values of integrity, perseverance, and compassion. His presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
