Stephen John Habergham

December 15, 1969 – June 7, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Stephen John Habergham, on June 7th, 2024 at his residence in Brampton, Ontario with his wife, Fiona, by his side, when he lost his two year battle with cancer.

Stephen was a loving husband of thirty-two years to Fiona. He was a devoted father to his children, Iain (Colleen) and Rhiannon. He was a cherished grandfather to his grandson, James. Stephen’s legacy is carried on through his family, whom he loved so much. He is survived by his mother, Eileen; his brother, David; his mother in-law; Evelyn Gill; his brother in-law, Stuart Gill (Miho); his sister in-law, Alison Mervin (Ken). He is predeceased by his father Eric and his father in-law, Cameron Gill. He was a special uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

On December 15, 1969, Stephen was born in Bradford, England. In 1973, his family immigrated to Canada, where he lived for more than fifty years. He attended North Park Secondary School. He was a general contractor and contributed to a number of assignments for companies, such as the Royal Bank of Canada, throughout Ontario. He was an esteemed member of the community, who would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

In 1987, he met and fell in love with his wife, Fiona, his highschool sweetheart. In 1992, they were married and shared thirty-two beautiful years. Together, they nurtured a family that would grow to include their children, Iain and Rhiannon, who he was so proud of and spoke about them to anyone he was with. Stephen worked long and hard to provide for his family. His dedication and support to his wife, Fiona, enabled her to return to school and become a teacher. Stephen loved playing with his grandson, his buddy, James. He enjoyed making him smile and laugh.

Stephen enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He was a proud owner of his 2011 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which he loved driving, working on, and getting it ready for summer. Stephen was an avid reader and spent many days outside in his backyard reading on his tablet and enjoying the weather. He loved cooking and baking for his family and friends. Stephen was also an avid gamer who loved playing video games with his son, Iain, and his online friends. He loved his cats, Lola and Leo, who he enjoyed snuggling and playing with.

Stephen will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His warmth, wisdom, and the joy he brought to everyone will be deeply missed. We will love you forever, Stephen.
