You never really know a person until you live or travel with them. We still have fond memories of going to BC with Deb to see Expo 86 and Vancouver Island. What a fun time we had. Of course we couldn't start our day until Deb finished a pot of coffee. Then 2 hours into the drive we had to stop for another cup or two. We are sorry to hear her travel plans have been cut short and we will miss her distinctive laugh and positive spirit. Love you Deb. Sorry we couldn't get together one last time. Sandy and Greg

My sincere condolences to Aunt Nora and the whole family. I remember my mom talking of Debra’s many accomplishments within the paramedic services and also as a breeder and champion of the English Mastiff. I am so sorry for your loss.

Bill and I are deeply saddened by Debs passing. Condolences to her family.
We met Deb as our neighbor in Hockley Valley. Her and Thera (her 200lb gentle giant) came over to introduce themselves. We were instantly friends. She was a great neighbor and friend. She will be missed by many.
R.I.P. Deb.

Servant heart. Trailblazer. Role model. Grateful am I to have worked alongside of Deb or near her while at Toronto EMS. She was one of few female Advanced Care Paramedics in an earlier era in our service and she modelled for upcoming female ACPs like myself - leadership, competency, good judgement and camaraderie. I will miss her laughter and humour that we shared and the quality of her character. Thank-you Deb for the thousands of patients you helped on their worst day, your service was exemplary. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

It was such a pleasure to have been one of Deb’s Dispatchers when she works at Toronto EMS. She was the ultimate Professional and one of the best Medics ever. Tough but in a very gentle way. We used to have some good laughs and chats.
I also knew Deb and her Babies at the Caledon Dog Show. We would laugh because my Westie wasn’t as big as the head of hers and when one yawned she could fit in the mouth. They would lay there and snuggle while we chatted.
Deb you were the BEST
RIP & LOVE

The Toronto Paramedic Services Pioneer Association offers condolences to the family and friends of Debra Eccles. Debra worked as a highly trained advanced Paramedic at Toronto Paramedic Services for 16 years from June 3, 1985. From the many comments I have received recently Debra was a true professional and very well respected by her Paramedic Colleagues. She can now rest in peace. The photo taken in 2015 shows Debra working at Dufferin County Paramedic Services.
