Obituary of Audrey VAN RAALTE
Audrey Van Raalte
October 19, 1941 – May 29, 2024
As the Holy Spirit teaches through the apostle Paul, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Phil 1:21).
The Lord in his infinite wisdom has taken to himself, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Audrey Van Raalte.
After a time of battling cancer, she has been relieved from her earthly suffering, and now rests with the Lord in his heavenly care.
Born on October 19,1941 to Cornelius and Neeltje Brouwer in Molenaarsgraaf, the Netherlands. Passed away May 29, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
She moved to Canada when she was 15 years old, with her parents and siblings. She worked at home, helping her mother with the younger children. After meeting Jim and getting married, they were blessed with five children. She dedicated her life to faithfully looking after her children and her husband. Audrey was always ready to help everyone out and never forgot anyone’s birthday! She loved to work at the Mission thrift store in Fergus.
Audrey was known by all for her tireless productivity and diligent work, being a great example to all those around her for her kindness, great modesty, helpfulness, and strong faith, which was evident in every aspect of her life!
Predeceased by parents Cornelius and Neeltje Brouwer and siblings Harry, Ina and Kees.
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband James, and children Trish, Nancy, Mary, Frank (and Kelly), Alan (and Connie), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and siblings Nellie and Gerry Deboer, Ryma and Clarence Van Raalte, Mel and Wilma Brouwer, Rhea and Ben Hofsink and Maryke Brouwer.
