Obituary of David Andrew JORISSEN

 April 26, 1980 – May 11, 2024

It is with extreme sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of David Andrew Jorissen on Saturday May 11, 2024, at the age of 44.

Dave was born and raised on a farm in Amaranth where he learnt and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He shared that enjoyment with his two boys and taught them how to hunt and fish. For many years he enjoyed pitching on a competitive baseball team. Dave graduated from the Tool and Die Program at Georgian College in Barrie. He was known to have a smart or witty comment to make others laugh.

Dave is survived by the two biggest joys of his life, his two sons Chase (11) and Luke (9), whom he was always so proud of. Dave is also survived by his parents Andy and Mary Jorissen, his sister Donna Funston (Trevor), nephews Dylan, Jordan and Cody and his step-daughter Madison Byers. Dave is predeceased by his brother-in-law and best friend Derek Funston (2008).  He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dave is no longer in pain or suffering, we were not ready to let him go but, it was his time.  Fly high with the angels, we will love you forever and will miss you always.  Until We Meet Again, Rest in Peace.

A celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at In Memoriam Funeral Service Inc. - (28 Main St. North, Grand Valley, ON, L9W 5S7) on Saturday June 1, 2024, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, SickKids Hospital, or the Living Wish Foundation, in memory of Dave.
