I have nothing but wonderful & sweet memories of my Uncle John. As a family we would go to Bellwoods Park in Toronto to watch him pitch. People sitting near us were always amazed at how good he was. I was very proud that he was my uncle. We didn't see each other a lot in recent years, but we connected by phone several months ago and spoke at least twice a week. Uncle John always made me laugh and before we said goodbye, we always said "I love you" to each other. He was a very sweet man and I will miss him always!

RIP, John. Thank you for the wonderful memories I have with you and your family. I want to share a few here...I always enjoyed the sound of your voice booming in the rink while cheering us on, my favorites, all referees were "Hotdogs", and when our team dominated and I faced only a few shots you'd holler out to me, "Joey, do you need a chair?". While I can't remember any specific circumstance, whether it was directed at me or Duke or both, you'd tell us, "That's for nothin', wait 'till you do something". I remember the fastball baseball games in Port Credit; you took command of the game with your pitching. I remember hearing people in the crowd around us saying to whoever, "Watch this guy!". I was so proud to be with you. I remember each time you handed me a tag for my golf bag with "Joe McNally" on it; I was included in the family membership. When my father was on the afternoon or midnight shift you'd pick me up for hockey games, even if Duke and I were on different teams playing against each other. Mostly though, Duke and I were on the same team. I suspect you once negotiated a deal with an elite team, making sure the coaches knew Duke and I were a package deal. I remember you always being there for Jimmy Pearce. After many years of space between us, it was wonderful to re-connect for lunch with you and Barb, very special! Love you, John. Always have, always will. My sincere condolences to your family. xo
