I wish to express my sincerest condolences to Madeleine and all their children. I met Hugo in the late 80' on Fritz and Frieda's farm in Switzerland and I will always remember the nice summer 1994 I spent working on their farm in Grand Valley. I wish to all of you a lot of courage.

At times like these it is always difficult to express in words the feelings of condolence necessary to ease the pain of people you care for. Please know that my heartfelt thoughts are with your family during this your time of loss. It's been a few years since Chris was involved with Air Cadets, but I remember Hugo as one of the nicest people.

Dear Madeleine, Philip and family,
Hugo was a great man. We are so sorry to hear of his sudden passing. Sending our condolences to all of you.
Over the last few years Hugo made such an impact to our association/community by volunteering his time & equipment to brush cut along The Upper Grand Trailway. When you say he " loved to drive his tractor " he sure did and we appreciated all he did.
We will miss him.
Sending you all love & light

Gaby Aebi Switzerland

Hugo was a very substantial, long and colourful thread forever woven in the fabric of the Lammerdings’ lives. My siblings will have their own memories, but for me Hugo was my wonderful ‘uncle’ in Canada. Always positive, certainly watchful and yes, those encouraging hugs. We will miss him dearly.

I was blessed to have shared, in a small way, a pathway with Hugo through our mutual involvement at Gay Lea Foods Co-operative. Hugo was passionate about many things: his faith, his family, his friends, his heritage, fairness, agriculture and dairy and his co-operative. He was always a gentle man who expressed and lived his beliefs. His word and his actions were one and the same. We were all fortunate to have shared a meal, a laugh, a debate and a meeting with Hugo. Rare are men like Hugo and how fortunate we were to have shared a few steps. My sincerest condolences to his family and his wide circle of friends. He will be missed. Always.

Dear Madeleine and family,
Lorne and I send our condolences to you on losing your husband and father, Hugo. I was a teenager in 1968 when Hugo, newly-arrived from Switzerland, came to help my father on our dairy farm near Milton. His cheerful, positive, and hard-working disposition was an inspiration to me, as was the fact that he soon realized his dream of having his own dairy farm.
I appreciate the connection Hugo maintained with my father and mother until their deaths in their 90's - a loyal and caring friend indeed, who will be missed.
