Obituary of Marie Elaine HORE

Marie Elaine Hore (Née Maltby)

May 3, 1946 - January 20, 2024

On January 20, 2024, our dear, beautiful, funny, kind, compassionate, good-hearted Marie passed away peacefully in Simcoe, Ontario. Marie was the beloved wife, soulmate and best friend of Donnie Hore. Marie’s parents were Allan and Vera (Née O’Connor) Maltby. 

Marie trained to be a hairdresser and also worked during her lifetime as a driving instructor in Brampton as well as worked at the Credit Bureau of Canada. Lastly, she worked as a floral designer at Parsons’ Florist in Orangeville, where she was able to pursue her passion for flowers. 

Marie married Don Hore in 1966 in Erin, Ontario. Donnie and Marie had been married 57 years. Marie was a born homemaker and she was devoted to Donnie and her family, Daughter's; Julie (Steve Harrison), Jacquie (Randy Celinski), and Son Darren (Sunita Karmakar-Hore). Marie was a loving and proud grandma to Brandon (Emily O’Brien) Alex, Lauren, Julia, Esme, Deven and great grandson, Leo. Marie will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. We know that she is free from suffering and finally at peace. Marie, you are loved by so many and will forever be in our hearts. 

Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life is planned for the spring.
