One of my all time favourite memories of Stewart was at the old Tony Rose rink during a figures lessons. Stewart had a soft spot for any and all concession candies and had snuck a bag of M&Ms or Skittles or something to that effect on the ice. Well, he was having trouble opening his covert snack. Naturally, his treat betrayed him, the bag finally opening with such explosive force that little candies went EVERYWHERE--skittering across my figures pattern, rolling into neighboring spots, resting against the blades of other skaters. Absolute chaos. Haha. Needless to say, he was also in shoes. It drove Patti bananas when he did that. Best lesson, ever. Miss and love you, Stewart. Always.

The time spent being coached by Stewart and Patty remain my fondest memories. He was encouraging, empathetic, supportive, kind and funny. He even supported me by driving me from Orangeville to Shelburne to school after early morning practice. I will always hold a special place in my heart for him. Rest easy Stewart, you will be greatly missed.
