John "Jack" Davison

July 19, 1932 - October 31, 2023

Surrounded by his Family, Jack passed away in his 92nd year on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care in Shelburne.

Loving Father of Ray (Barb) of Grand Valley and Heather (Geoff) Greig of Orangeville. Proud Grandfather of Janice (Ingram), Emily (David), Brookelyn and Jack. Great Grandfather of Wyatt, Aria, Titus, Ruth and Lachlan. Predeceased by his parents James and Charlotte Davison and brother Roy.

Jack was born on the family farm in East Luther Township on July 19, 1932. The family moved to Grand Valley around 1947. As a family, they operated a Cockshutt dealership as well as selling farm supplies. Jack then served with the Ontario Provincial Police for 3 years before coming home to go into business with his brother, Roy, doing custom baling, trucking hay, straw and grain. In the early 60’s, with the closing of the small one room schools, the brothers ventured into the school bus business. They transported many students to and from the schools in Dufferin County for 54 years. In some cases, transporting multiple generations of the same family.

Throughout his life Jack enjoyed getting out on a road trip and meeting new people. He also took great interest and pleasure in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc. 28 Main Street. North. Grand Valley at 1:00 p.m.

The Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Family and Friends are invited to stay for refreshments and fellowship after the Service.

Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jack are asked to consider the Grand Valley Knox Presbyterian Church, Grand Valley Lions Club or Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care.
