Aubrey Franklin COLLINS

July 17, 1932 - October 10, 2023

On October 10, 2023, the potato crop was leaving the fields, one single rose opening in full bloom outside the front window. Through laughter and tears, June (née Gatehouse) spent the day holding Aub’s hand as she had done for the past 66 years.

Together, Aub and June spent their early years raising four rotten spuds, Audrey Johnston, the late Floyd (Kim), Patricia (Dennis) Hannath, and Marylee (Steve) Hilliard, on their potato farm in Melancthon, ON.

Aub could always be seen out in the field on his tractor, or in his workshop being a craftsman; tinkering and fixing whatever he could.

Over the years, Aub became “Pop”, always sharing a knee and giving whisker rubs to his many grandchildren. He lived to be 91 years young and experience the joys of great grandchildren also.

The family would like to thank all community nursing supports whom made it possible for Aub to remain on the family farm to the end.

Cremation has taken place. Private interment will take place, where Aub will continue to rest in Horning’s Mills, ON alongside his parents, Grandma and Grandpa Collins.
