Obituary of Eva Mae FINLAY

February 27, 1923 - October 08, 2023

Eva Mae Finlay peacefully passed away on October 8, 2023 in her 101st year. She leaves us to join her beloved husband Ken (2005) and her loving son John (2002).

A loving and cherished mother to her daughter Shirley (Tom) and her daughter-in-law Glenda.

She is treasured by her grandchildren Matthew and Whitney (Scott) and great grandchildren Shawn, Rachel, Charlotte and Delaney. Eva will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Eva had many friends who kept in touch through phone calls, visits, letters and cards. She cherished these connections.

Her favorite pastimes included doing jigsaw puzzles and watching the Blue Jays. She knew exactly what they needed to do to win their games, but they just didn’t listen.

The family would like to thank the staff at Chartwell Montgomery Village Retirement Residence, the nursing staff from Bayshore Home Care and Comfort Keepers Care Services. A very special thank you to Dr. Karen Sandhu who guided Eva on her journey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at In Memoriam Funeral Services Inc. - 28 Main Street. North. Grand Valley, ON. L9W 5S7 on October 28, 2023 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Words of remembrance will take place at 12:00 pm. 

As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
