Obituary of Shirley Ann GARDHOUSE
Shirley Gardhouse, nee: Hostrawser
June 5th, 1929 – September 15th, 2023
In her 95th year, Shirley passed peacefully to join her beloved John (2008).
She leaves behind her daughter Deb (Keith Halls) and son Guy (Susan), grandchildren David Halls (Jodi), Darren Halls, Derek Halls (Erinn), Dolly (John Meadowcroft), Joseph Gardhouse (Christine), Matthew Gardhouse (Tima), Katherine Gardhouse (Ryan), Peter Gardhouse (Maryann), 12 great-grandchildren. Sister to B Burrell, Gus (Doreen) Sister-in-law Norma Hostrawser and Frank Pope. Predeceased by her brother Orville and sisters Merle and Doreen, and a large extended family.
Shirley was born and raised on the family farm in Chinguacousy township, where she met and married her childhood sweetheart John in 1953. They farmed together on the 5th Line west until they relocated to the 13th Line of East Garafraxa in 1964. They lived there for another 44 years.
They were both active community members throughout their lives, and Shirley participated in, supported, and volunteered for a variety of groups including the Hillsburgh Presbyterian Church, Cancer Society, different sporting activities and many more.

She will be missed.
