Obituary of Dorothy Georgina Mae IRELAND

October 12, 1943 - September 2, 2023

Dorothy Georgina Mae Ireland (Née Parson), age 79, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 2, 2023, at her home in Arthur, Ontario, a few weeks shy of her 80th birthday. She is finally at peace, having suffered from serious illnesses over the last few years. 

Dorothy was born on October 12, 1943, in Weston Ontario. She has been married to Douglas Ireland for the past 21 years. 

She had a varied career and retired from Immigration Canada in 2008.

Dorothy was a very social person who loved to spend time with her friends, socializing at her condo in Brampton and playing cards at Flower City in Brampton, Ontario prior to recently moving to Arthur.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Douglas, her children; Steve (Su) and Karen (Solomon), and her stepdaughter Tammy, her grandchildren Brandon (Alanna), Matthew, Joshua, Nathaniel, Arielle, Tyler, Jennie-Mae, and Katelyn; as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was the last of her siblings; William, Donald, Phoebe and Audrey all predceased her.

Family, friends and others whose lives Dorothy touched are invited to the St. John's United Church, located at 28 Queen Street, Belwood, Ontario, at 1pm on Saturday September 23, 2023, to reminisce, support each other, and celebrate the life and memory of Dorothy.
