Obituary of Kelly James JOHNSON

October 29, 1960 - March 22, 2023

Peacefully and surrounded by his family at home, Kelly Johnson passed away on March 22, 2023, at the age of 62 years, following a seven-year courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Kelly lived an exciting and adventurous life. Many weekends were spent at his family’s cottage four wheeling, snowmobiling and boating. He adored his Ford F-150 truck, the cleanest and most loved truck in the neighbourhood. He enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, the USA, and Canada, but his heart was always firmly planted in River John, Nova Scotia. He had a great love for cats, especially his calico cat Bowie who never left his side throughout his illness. He was a lover of country music (especially The Chicks) and watching NASCAR even with us teasing him for hours. No one can ever encapsulate a life as rich and exciting in a short paragraph, but he touched many hearts during his time.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean, and their three children, Michael, Luke and Colena, along with his mother, Shirley, and three sisters. His father, James, and brother, Kevin, greeted him and embraced him in Heaven with open arms. He will be missed by his large extended family who will always remember his love for life and care for others. His energy on earth has been transformed into a new and exciting energy. He is now the chief carpenter redesigning the Pearly Gates.

To honour his wish, there will be a Celebration of Life held in the coming months.
