Steven Joseph Richard Connell

November 1, 1956 - February 28, 2023

Steven Joseph Richard Connell of Mono Township passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 66 on February 28, 2023.

His love and memories will live on through his beloved partner Eileen Wallace of 44 years. He was the proud father of Kristin Connell (Lynsey Adams), and Mike Connell (Beckie Connell). He was loving “papa, “to grandchildren Calvin, Logan and Nora Connell. A dedicated son, to Dennis Connell. Loving brother to Debbie Hellam (Raymond) and Corinne Connell (Walter).

He is predeceased by his mother, Marilyn Connell, sister, Sandy Connell and his granddaughter Audrey Connell.

Born and raised in Toronto, Steven was a skilled tradesman who genuinely enjoyed and took pride in his work, having his own commercial drywall business for many years. He made many lifelong friends throughout his career. He built a beautiful home for his family in 1985 and constantly updated the home to make sure his family had everything they dreamed of.

In his time away from work he spent countless hours at ice rinks with his younger children. Watching his daughter skate and dance and his son play competitive hockey. He was quite an accomplished hockey player himself until a neck injury made him hang up his skates. He followed all the Toronto sports teams and watched F1 racing with great pleasure. He loved European soccer and was a fan of Manchester United. In October 2022 we surprised him by getting him tickets at a home game in Manchester, England to watch Man U at the Old Trafford stadium. He loved it and ticked another item off his bucket list. He loved the great outdoors and was a skilled and avid fisherman from a very young age. His adventures and best memories were spent with Nick and Jose fishing the French River in Ontario. However, he also found he loved deep sea fishing and would always fishing on his holidays. His favourite spots were Aruba and Cabo San Lucas. Steven and Eileen were so fortunate to be able to travel often and worldwide, but Cabo San Lucas in Mexico held a special place in their hearts.

Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will take place on July 22, 2023 at his home that he lovingly restored, knowing that he would never get any real time to enjoy the home. His dedicated friends were always at his side, helping him constantly to finish his last project. To Steven, his family and friends always came first.
