Ben's Poem to Bonnie by Shane Edward Shea - 1995
THIS HAND OF MINE
The years have come and the time has passed;
our marriage has survived!
There were those who thought we were insane;
We're together, ask us why?
I have witnessed other couples,
as their marriages hit the rocks;
To our lucky stars I'm thankful,
for the happiness we have caught!
Our covenant is what binds us,
through the good times and the bad!
And to you Soulmate my love is yours,
to support you when you're sad;
The luster of our wedding day,
has not faded touched by time;
And when we sleep I know its you,
who holds this hand of mine!
A rough cut diamond paired with a gem,
an unlikely match but a team;
I am graterful for this life that we share,
through the good times and the lean.
Just where will all this lead to,
this bonding made for two?
Who cares lets live our lives to the MAX,
as long as I live it with you!
