Our family have many memories of the Kelloway family and Jean was definitely the matriarch. I remember Jean was always in motion whether working on the farm, managing their home or looking after kids and grandkids. In addition, she volunteered countless hours to the Caledon Fair, her church and supported the Conservative Party. She enjoyed lively political debates with our parents. Jean was a superbly skilled quilter and I remember the quilting frame was usually set up by the kitchen table. Jean was a devoted life long fan of the Royal family. She read all the royal news and kept scrapbooks of the Queen. Jean collected royal keepsakes and as kids Sylvia and I wished we could have had tea parties with those little ornate demitasse cups, saucers and tiny plates. However, we knew not to ever touch Jean's royal collectibles! Jean and Archie loved to play euchre with our parents (Bob & Elva). The games were loud and boisterous with the women usually accusing the men of cheating! Jean was a dear friend to our mom for 60+ years. Their phone conversations were epic in length. Jean was a strong, hardworking woman who was proud of her family and a devoted friend and she will be missed.

I have many memories of euchre games involving my parents , Bob and Elva Davis and Jean and Archie .They sure enjoyed their time together as the laughter was often loud . I remember many visits to the Kelloway farm in Caledon . We were always made to feel welcome and included .
Jean had a great dedication to community , especially the Caledon Fair Board . Jean got me involved with the fair . Whether is was doing work on the grounds or volunteering at many Canada Day events . Jean was a very jovial and caring person who will be greatly missed .

I remember Jean's incredible laugh. I heard it so often during euchre games, birthday celebrations and the conversations my mother Elva Davis and Jean shared at our family farm. Most weeks, for many years after attending the auction at Reinhart's in Snelgrove, Jean and Harold (Archie) would drop by for a visit and lots of laughter. Mom and Dad (Bob) truly valued their friendship with Jean and Archie. How special to have a friendship spanning so many years, sharing all aspects of their lives for over 6 decades.
Jean recruited me to help with her passion, The Caledon Fall Fair. Under her tutelage I gained skills that helped through my life including coming prepared with all the tools I needed to do the job I was assigned in the homecraft division (pens, tape, scissors etc.) Her lessons have served me well over the years. I still make her tea biscuits and coleslaw.
Jean shared her cooking skills, political views, her sense of humor, her love of family and her zest for life. She always remembered to send cards for special occasions and you always knew she cared.
Jean leaves a wonderful legacy and will be missed.
