Obituary of Betty Ann WALSH
WALSH, Betty Ann
December 9th, 1942 to July 6th, 2022
Betty Ann Walsh was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia in 1942. She passed peacefully surrounded by her 3 sisters and brother-in-law on July 6th, 2022. She was a loving, caring, woman with a gentle kind spirit. She welcomed everyone into her home. She wanted to feed everyone and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with them, always.
She was the eldest of 9 children. She married her husband Lloyd at the age of 16, they were together until he passed at the age of 77. Her family meant so much to her. She treasured her parents, siblings, their partners and her extended family. She made sure to spend time with them all throughout her life. Most of all she loved her children Cindy (Rick), Debbie and Rob (Tina). She treasured her grandchildren, Sara, Matthew, Brady, Amanda, Jessica, Ben, Nick, Tom and Alyssa-Rose. She was happiest at family gatherings and the many vacations she had with her children, grandchildren and siblings. She also enjoyed a good long chat on the phone when she couldn't be with them. Betty Ann loved to sing along with her brothers and sisters as her brothers played guitar. Country music was her favorite.
She was blessed to find peace, love and comfort at Lakeside Retirement in Innisfil. When she became palliative in late December 2021, she had an amazing group of caregivers who cared for her and loved her like she was one of their own. It was a peaceful time for her and she was so grateful for that, she said. She also received outstanding care from her palliative team from St. Elizabeth’s. Betty touched all their hearts, and they valued the time they spent with her.
May her light continue to shine in all who had the pleasure of knowing, loving and caring for her.
