A reminiscence of Kevin from our teenage years which my memory assures me is true.
On leaving school his mind was set on being an operating theatre technician; I’ve no idea why. So, he set about writing a letter to every hospital in Essex offering his services. What Kevin didn’t know was that there was just one Personnel Department for all Essex hospitals. So, every letter, exactly the same, landed on the desk of one man.
That man called him for interview and had all the letters on his desk. The chap looked at him and said,
“You seem so keen I suppose I should give you a job”.
Well that’s what Kevin told me!
He was a true lifelong friend, especially in the last two years, and a great band mate. Thank you Kevin.

There are no words that can help Sue and the family at this heartbreaking time.
Kevin was a diamond, kind, considerate and funny. He was a loving caring Husband, Father and Grandfather who will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Kev. I will miss you. Go play your songs to the angels xx

Kev Bowden, what can I say? Intelligent, sharp witted, trusting, selfless, strong as an Ox and yet soft as putty. You took on your wife’s friend then my family too, you included us in your England tours, even visited Jessica in hospital in London. We were always honoured. Your retirement and plans were cut short so suddenly, so cruel for a man who gave so much to people, your beautiful family left with a gaping hole that can never be filled. I can still feel your tight hug and hear your words of goodbye from just days ago.I will miss your amusing social media interaction that always made me smile and Paul laugh out loud as I read them out. And of course the little joke you shared with our girls - DONUTS! Miss you big man.

Sue and I are heartbroken. We cannot imagine your pain even as we share this deep sense of loss. No words can convey the emptiness left by Kevin's unexpected passing. Always quick to smile and laugh. We'll dearly miss his bear-hugs and wit which will live forever in our hearts.
