My condolences to Joyce's family. I remember her well from the General Hospital. I loved her sense of humour and she always supported the nurses. She was a great lady.

Oh Joyce, my darling sister. So many memories that only you and I shared and the miles we traveled together. It started on our first trip alone via The Canadian, across Canada to the west coast with a stop in Calgary to visit relatives and attend the Calgary stampede. After graduating from nursing school with our RN degree, we saved enough to sail to England aboard a Dutch freighter. Almost 4 weeks visiting scores of relatives in the Manchester area and a visit to Liverpool and The Cavern, home of the Beatles, we were off to London just as the Trooping the Colour ceremonies began. We saw the entire Royal family and all the pageantry. Then it was off to our tour of Europe, visiting all the countries from the Scandinavian countries, across Norway, saw Marlena Dietrich preform in a small theater in Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, Sweden, to Holland, Belgium, France, Germany and Austria, meeting many people along the way. What a blast that was, 4 and a half months later we returned home, to earn more money for a return trip the following year, back to Germany, Austria and Italy. We had a chance to work at an American base hospital in Munich but decided to return to Canada for Expo 67. We established ourselves in a new apartment building in the heart of Montreal and had a great time in our own city which hosted the world for 6 glorious, action filled months.
The following year, our paths took a different direction and it wasn't just "us" anymore. But we had a wonderful life together, with loving supportive parents and always had fun reminiscing, only we new all the stories. Now I have no one to share but oh, the fun we had. Take your rest now, dear sister, and be at peace. I love you dearly, always have, always will. Auf wiedersehen

Joyce was such a wonderful friend. All our times together ended in laughter. She was brilliant, brave, and beautiful - and I will miss her forever. Love to her family. And, big hugs too.
