Freda
It was very sad to hear of George's passing from Gino. Two lasting memories of George stand out for me.
One is the image of George tinkering with his 1950-60's era Volvo in the driveway of your house on the King Road. I would walk up the drive delivering your Toronto Star newspaper and interrupt him as he was tinkering with the carburetors. Volvo's were new to Canada and were relatively rare. I was curious and George love to explain how these carburetors and the 4 cylinder Volvo engine worked. In my pre-teen eyes he was the coolest guy in Nobleton. How right I was.
The second is an evening on your patio at your house in Edmonton. It was a summer night in August 1977. I was traveling across the country with Carol (my wife at that time). You and George had heard from Mary and Frank that we would be passing through Edmonton on a cross country adventure and you kindly invited us to visit. I remember that visit as a highlight of the trip. Feeling a Nobleton welcome far from home and seeing you and George, it felt like we were family.
Too many other memories to count at Mary's & Frank's New Years Eve party.
George will be missed by many.

Dear Freda,
I was very sorry to read in the paper that your husband had passed away. Please know that my thoughts are with you and all your family. You will all have wonderful memories of the happy years that you spent together, and eventually these will help to erase the sad days that you are now experiencing.
Take care of yourself Freda. I miss our chats when we were both volunteering at Bethell House.

Dear Freda and Family
So sorry to hear of George’s sad passing. He was one of natures gentlemen who only saw the best in others. He was a gifted communicator. We worked together in Edmonton in Honeywell and enjoyed some great times together. We remained good friends and stayed in touch across the miles and the years. So glad Kay & I could meet with you both in Toronto before the pandemic memories we both cherish.
He will be sadly missed.
Stay strong.
Love Kay & Kieran
