Obituary of Laura Jane PALMER BROWN
It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Palmer (Ivankovich) announce her passing on April 6, 2022. After a courageous battle with metastasized breast cancer, she spent her final days with her loved ones by her side at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood.
Her joyful spirit will be carried on by her adoring husband; Geordie, children; Jessica and Norman (Jean), step-children; Ryan, Lisa (Darryl) and beloved grandchildren; Cameron, Miles, Naomi and Eden, sister; Merle and many friends.
Born in Port Colborne in 1958, Laura moved to Caledon with her late husband where she lived for over 35 years. Laura was very active in the community and ran her own fitness business out of the Inglewood Community Centre throughout the 90s.
Laura was a member of the Brampton Golf Club for over 20 years where she met her second husband Geordie Brown. Laura and Geordie were married in 2012 and enjoyed many great travels, gardening, being grandparents and were known as fabulous backyard hosts always ready to entertain.
Laura exuded joy and positivity. She was a true girly-girl with a penance for all things sparkly and believed every occasion was a good occasion for champagne. Incredibly thoughtful and giving, she brought so much happiness to the people in her life. Laura was a beautiful radiant light and will be missed enormously.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Brampton Civic Hospital Oncology Clinic and Bethell Hospice for their care and compassion.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Bethell Hospice Foundation or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Old and new friends alike are encouraged to join us for a celebration of Laura's life at the Brampton-Caledon Airport BFC Restaurant-Cafe on Saturday April, 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
